My Little Line Dancer

She's still learning all the steps
Still finding where the beat falls
I bought us both some lessons once
Wrote my name up on the wall
She took to it like she was born there
I took to the bar
Sipping mojitos in the corner
Watching my favorite star

Beautiful, look at you go Spinning round that floor like I knew you would Beautiful, I hope you know Every eye in the room wishin' they looked that good There's a hundred people dancin' I only see one My beautiful line dancer Having all the fun

Renegade's on a Saturday
Travis Tritt comes on and I tap my boots
That's as close as I'm gonna get out there
And darlin' that's the truth
So I'll hold down this barstool
Hold my drink up high
Every time she looks over
She gets me

Beautiful, look at you go Spinning round that floor like I knew you would Beautiful, I hope you know Every eye in the room wishin' they looked that good There's a hundred people dancin' I only see one My beautiful line dancer Having all the fun

Lila — fiddle break. Sweet and a little searing. Builds like she's pulling the whole room onto the floor.

Beautiful, look at you go Spinning round that floor like I knew you would Beautiful, I hope you know Every eye in the room wishin' they looked that good There's a hundred people dancin' I only see one My beautiful line dancer Having all the fun My beautiful line dancer

Liner Notes:

The lovely and talented Kathy does love to line dance, and she is ever so much better at it than I am. I have two left feet when it comes to line dancing, but she can pick up the steps like it's second nature. We'll go to Renegades on a Saturday night. I'll reserve a table and just sit and drink, tapping my boots to the music.

This song celebrates her love of line dancing and my love of watching her do...well, damn near anything, but yes, line dancing.
